The "1-Minute Spotlight"
Breakout Room Drill
How it works:
Students are sent to Zoom breakout rooms in pairs. They must speak on a random topic (e.g., "Why smartphones are bad") for 60 seconds without stopping. If they make a grammatical error, they just keep speaking. Fluency over accuracy at this stage.
The "Fear Factor" Circle
3-Hour Offline Workshop
How it works:
No chairs. Everyone stands in a massive circle. We play "Throw the Ball". Whoever catches the ball must run to the center and loudly introduce themselves with high energy and eye contact to 50+ people. We do this until the physical hesitation of public speaking vanishes.
The Result:
Students realize that no one is judging them. The psychological barrier of speaking English in public breaks on Day 14.
